American Community Survey

The American Community Survey (ACS) is conducted annually of a sample population. It provides annual and multi-year estimates on the characteristics of population and housing. The ACS is conducted under the authority of Title 13, United States Code, Sections 141 and 193, and like the Census, response is mandatory. The survey form consists of 54 items and every 1 in 6 households receives the continuous survey on an annual basis. That equates to 250,000 U.S. households surveyed monthly, and 3 million households surveyed each year. More
